Candidate/Elector Organization/Campaign Organizer Documentation
Candidates seeking local government election and Elector Organizations and Campaign Organizers, that have endorsed a candidate and/or conducted a campaign in relation to a local government election are required to file with the Chief Elections Officer:
Candidate Nomination DocumentsEach candidate must file nomination papers. The statutory period for receiving nomination documents begins at 9:00 am on September 30th and ends at 4:00 pm on October 10th, 2008. In accordance with section 73(1) of the Local Government Act, the nomination papers must be available for public inspection from the time of delivery until 30 days after the declaration of the election results. The nomination papers will be posted on this website and will also be available for inspection at the Office of the Municipal Clerk at Municipal Hall.

Campaign Financial DisclosuresEach candidate, elector organization and campaign organizer in the Local Government Election is required to submit to the Municipal Clerk, within 120 days of General Voting Day, a campaign financing disclosure statement. The deadline for submission of financing disclosure statements with respect to the 2008 Local Government Election is March 16, 2009. In accordance with section 93(3) of the Local Government Act, financial disclosure statements will be available for public inspection from the time of filing until seven (7) years after General Voting Day for the election for which they relate. These documents will be posted on this website and will also be available for inspection at the Office of the Municipal Clerk at Municipal Hall. |

Once filed, these documents must be available for public inspection, for the periods specified by the Local Government Act. A person who inspects or otherwise accesses these documents must not use the information included in them except for the purposes defined by the Act.
